Warning

If you have been asked  by the Children's Literary Agency, the WL Writers Literary Agency or any other agency connected with them to obtain a critique of your work, please read this warning before proceeding any further.

Every writer, no matter how experienced, needs a second opinion on his or her work. The Word Doctors provide sound, objective, constructive feedback and support for writers, and resources for writers' groups.

Whether you write fiction, non-fiction or poetry, we can help you to achieve your goals. While we are always supportive of writers who are striving to improve,  we won't tell you that your work is better than it really is.

Who are we?

Sarah Willans is a poetry editor, journalist, author and Creative Writing tutor, and administrator of the annual Plough Prize poetry competition.

We're not an agency, and we can't guarantee to get you published. We will, however, provide you with a knowledgeable assessment of your work and make practical suggestions for improving it where necessary.

Visit our personal pages now for information on our individual critiques, and the poetry course Poetry: Form and Technique.
